Saturdays with Sarah

Introducing our regular sessions with Sarah

I am delighted to be able to write this as SisterWorks starts to welcome Sisters back into the Richmond Empowerment hub. The SisterWorks team has worked tirelessly over the lockdowns and movement restrictions to continue to engage and support the Sisters via online learning, so it is wonderful that while some Sisters have started to return to in-person training, others are opting to say with our new online training and have transitioned well to using our new online learning platform- we can’t wait to share more about this in 2021!

By being able to offer both in-person and online training and support, we are able to reach more Sisters then ever before and increase our impact throughout Victoria. Now that we are able to have more staff and Sisters back in the office, we have also been able to increase the production of the SisterWorks label products, just in time for your festive season shopping.

No matter what the occasion, or who you are buying for, there are plenty of beautifully crafted homemade items that you can purchase online, in our Richmond store or at the South Melbourne Markets, and we are really proud to be able to financially support the amazingly talented Sisters who made these products.

While I have only just started as CEO, I would like to thank everyone who supported SisterWorks throughout this challenging year. SisterWorks shifted completely online in March, and since then the team has been working tirelessly to ensure that we were still able to support and engage with Sisters as they also navigated life in this post-COVID world. And we would not have been able to do that without the support of our donors, supporters, and everyone who purchased a facemask- I still break out into a huge smile every time I see someone in Melbourne wearing one! And a massive thank you, of course, to the Sisters themselves.
