Chiaw initially joined SisterWorks as a Social Mentor Volunteers Coordinator and now also helps coordinate, design and facilitate the Pathways Program supported by the UN Women Second Chance Education Program. Through this role, she hopes to see Sisters grow in confidence and find their place in Australia.
A curiosity of new cultures and languages led her overseas and broadened her understanding of poverty and vulnerable groups. Chiaw’s experiences include covering the communications on the devastating Sichuan Earthquake in 2008 and launching clean water, education and medical programs in impoverished regions. Chiaw is always open to new ways of serving the community and building bridges across sectors.
