Farewell Luz

Earlier this month, Luz said farewell to SisterWorks.

Luz arrived in Australia in 2010 seeking political asylum with little English and her life in tatters.  Over the past seven years, she has redesigned herself as a leader, a founder and a social entrepreneur empowering some of the most vulnerable people in society by founding SisterWorks.

In a message Luz wrote ‘Many remarkable humans have helped me and SisterWorks through this journey—a place where I will always belong.
As a strong migrant woman, I’m also ready for the next chapter in this journey of driving social impact!’

Caroline Mills; Chair of SisterWorks; said ‘We recognise the tremendous contribution Luz has made in establishing and developing SisterWorks to be the vibrant and effective organisation it has become today.  Luz’s legacy is an integral part of SisterWorks’ ethos and will continue to drive us as we move forward.’

Good luck Luz! The team at SisterWorks will miss you.
