Introducing our New CEO

Sarah Ireland
Today is an exciting day for SisterWorks as we officially announce the appointment of Sarah Ireland as our new CEO.

Sarah joins us from One Girl where she has been the CEO since January 2018.  She has worked extensively in humanitarian outreach and international aid and led emergency response teams across Asia, the Middle East and East Africa. From her 12 years of front-line experience, Sarah has seen firsthand the complex nature of issues facing migrant and refugee women and girls. Sarah has qualifications in International Law, International Studies and Journalism and has lectured at Deakin University on Humanitarian Leadership. She is honoured and excited to lead SisterWorks’ into a new era of growth and build on the great foundation that has been established.  Sarah brings a high level of experience, energy, passion and a collaborative approach.

Here are some interesting facts about our new CEO:

  • Sarah is the humanitarian representative on the Red Cross Australia Victoria International Humanitarian Law Advisory Council and a board member with Transparency International Australia
  • she has a seven-month-old son and a four-year-old daughter, both of whom are hilarious, full of attitude and love a good cuddle
  • she loves the outdoors, whether it is going for a hike, run or a surf.

Sarah will commence with SisterWorks on November 2nd.  Lisa Palma will continue as interim CEO until this time.

Welcome onboard Sarah, we’re super excited to have you join the team.
