Suzana, Serbia

Originally from Serbia, Suzana moved to Australia for family reasons as a single mum of four children. She joined SisterWorks Department of Education Skills and Employment (DESE) Local Job Hospitality program this year. Prior to her SisterWorks training, she was quite concerned to be working right after Melbourne’s COVID lockdowns, but through her work with the program, she regained her confidence and was able to become proactive again in her employment search. Supported by SisterWorks’ staff with lived experience, 

Suzana graduated from the program and obtained her certification. The program also facilitated connections to employment pathways and Suzana was successfully placed in a hospitality job in a local restaurant and is now an important staff member for the business.
