As a UN Women partner, SisterWorks supports the UN’s position on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. We held several events in recognition of this important date across our hubs.

We held a lunch activity at our Bendigo Hub where we celebrated SisterWorks and the role of migrant, refugee and asylum-seeker women in the region. The Deputy Premier Jacinta Allen attended, she said

‘I am proud of the work done here at SisterWorks in supporting women from diverse backgrounds by providing them with space to come together, share cultural traditions. Economic empowerment is important for the ongoing prosperity of women and children.’

We also held a special lunch in Melbourne focusing on our Small Business Sisters from migrant and refugee backgrounds and their achievements.
