Partner Highlights: February 2023

Partnerships are critical for the ongoing sustainability of SisterWorks social enterprise services and vocational training programs. From grants to hiring our services, philanthropic and business partnerships directly support our vision that all migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking women are economically empowered.

Read about our recent partner highlights below:

Ecstra Foundation Grant

Ecstra Foundation continues to support Sisterworks, our Sisters and our Employment Pathways Program, further investing in our good work with a $300K grant for our Employment Pathways Program.

According to the CEO of Ecstra Foundation, Caroline Stewart: “SisterWorks is a wonderful social enterprise that lives its’ vision and values of ‘An Australia where all migrant women are given the opportunities to become economically empowered’.

‘SisterWorks’ Employment Pathways Program is a proven and effective approach to addressing the structural barriers to paid employment many CALD women in Victoria face. Earning an income has a profound effect on the economic security and financial wellbeing of participants and their families, as well as addressing the workforce needs of employers.”

We look forward to providing industry specific training and employment support to approximately 300 Sisters over the next 18 months of the grant.

Toyota Finance

Toyota Finance team worked with our Customer Service Sisters recently on a critical workshop to provide them with knowledge and skills around the interview process, workplace culture, processes and procedures they would observe and follow if working at Toyota Finance.

Spark Consortium – North East Link

Sisterworks catering social enterprise Crafted Culture recently ran a Spark NEL sponsored  sausage sizzle for the Bullants Junior Football Club Open Day. By booking our catering, Spark directly supports and provides income to our Sisters who have undertaken SisterWorks Hospitality Program training.

Liquid Learning

Liquid Learning chose SisterWorks as their charity partner for their annual Victorian Public Sector Women in Leadership Summits. SisterWorks supplied our ethical gift hampers for guest speakers and hosted a Pop Up Market.
