Astrid Daniels (She/Her), South Africa

Astrid is a passionate people-focused professional based in Melbourne, Australia. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, she has had the privilege of living and working across several countries, including New Zealand, where she lived for 10 years, and Dubai, where she spent a few years broadening her professional and cultural experiences. These experiences have given her a deep appreciation for diversity, inclusion, and the unique journeys people take when building a life in a new country.

Throughout her career, she has worked across relationship management, stakeholder engagement, administration, recruitment support, and community services. Astrid has always been driven by a desire to help people, build meaningful connections, and create opportunities that make a real difference in the lives of others. She believes that meaningful work has the power to transform not only individuals but also families and communities.

In her role with SisterWorks, she is passionate about supporting women from refugee, asylum seeker, and migrant backgrounds to achieve economic independence through employment, entrepreneurship, and skills development. She is committed to building strong partnerships and connecting businesses with talented women whose skills, resilience, and potential deserve recognition and opportunity.

Having migrated and built a life across different countries herself, she understands many of the challenges that can come with adapting to new environments, cultures, and opportunities. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to advocating for inclusion, empowerment, and equal opportunities for all women, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Outside of her professional life, she is a proud wife and mother. Family is at the heart of everything Astrid does, and she is deeply passionate about creating a positive impact in the lives of others. Astrid believes in leading with kindness, authenticity, and purpose, and she is grateful to be part of an organisation whose mission aligns so closely with her values.

"I am excited to contribute to SisterWorks' vision of empowering women to become financially independent and to help build a more inclusive, connected, and equitable future for the communities we serve."
