Placement & Partnerships Coordinator

Saranjeet Kaur (She/Her), Malaysia

Saranjeet joined SisterWorks in November 2024 as a Placement and Partnerships Coordinator where she works with the Employment Support team to build and maintain effective relationships with partner employers to create sustainable employment opportunities for women from refugee, asylum seeking and migrant backgrounds. She is also assisting in continuous improvement projects related to the Program team.

Saranjeet graduated from University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur with a Bachelor of Information Technology degree and then followed by a Master of Computer Science degree. She has 24 years of experience in IT, working with global organisations such as Roche (healthcare industry) and BT (telecommunications industry).

The first 10 years of her career were in software development, followed by 14 years in IT project and delivery management, excelling in both traditional and Agile methodologies. She has led high-performing global teams to success and holds Project Management Professional (PMP) and SAFe 6 Scrum Master certifications.

Saranjeet’s mother, a priest for 17 years, inspired her to serve others. Growing up, she witnessed her mother’s deep community engagement, which fuelled her passion for serving others. She then volunteered in teaching IT skills to refugee children, building websites for youth organisations, and digitising paper records for senior citizens. She hopes to pass this legacy of service to her daughter in the years to come.

"I believe that in helping others, we should use whatever resources that are available to us. Hence, with my technology background, I strive to create a social impact, no matter how big or small. My focus is on women and children because empowering a woman can transform future generations, as many women are the primary nurturers of their families. Just as my mother inspired and shaped me, I hope to do the same for others."
