Placement & Partnerships Coordinator
Mehar Singh (She/Her), India
Mehar Singh joins SisterWorks as the Placement and Partnership Coordinator, where she brings both her experience in HR and her genuine passion for social impact. In her role, she works with partners and stakeholders to create opportunities for migrant, refugee, and asylum-seeker women to gain confidence, independence, and a supportive community.
With almost three years in human resources, Mehar has built her career around connecting people to opportunities that empower them. She began her journey at Walmart, a global leader in retail, where she managed onboarding and employee development across the U.S. and Canada. Seeking a more hands-on role, Mehar transitioned from this multinational environment to a startup, Talentz.ai, where she led recruitment projects and gained a deep understanding of building HR processes from the ground up. At TopHire, she then expanded her skills by crafting positive candidate experiences, helping individuals find meaningful career paths. Mehar holds a Master’s in Human Resource Management from RMIT University, grounding her approach in inclusive and people-focused workforce practices.
Mehar’s passion for community extends into her volunteer work. She has helped young people and women start small businesses as a volunteer with Let’sEndorse, supporting local economies. With Child Rights and You, she advocated for children’s rights and participated in awareness campaigns which helped in raising funds.
As part of a military family, I grew up moving across India, which gave me a deep appreciation for the richness of diverse communities. SisterWorks’ mission really speaks to me, because I believe everyone deserves the chance to build a life they’re proud of, no matter where they come from. Joining this team allows me to be part of a community that makes this possible, and that’s incredibly rewarding!
