SisterWorks Empowerment Hubs offer a safe, friendly and nurturing space for migrant, refugee and asylum-seeker women (our Sisters) to learn, meet and grow.
We provide a range of vocational training programs, life skills classes and employment opportunities through our hubs. All of which are designed for Sisters' varying degrees of knowledge and language capabilities. SisterWorks Mobile Hubs provide training workshops and classes for migrant, refugee and asylum seeking women (Sisters) throughout regional and metropolitan Victoria.
Mobile Hubs provide opportunities for Sisters in areas where access to services is limited. These workshops and classes build and enhance Sisters economic self-sufficiency through education, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Workshops include one-off classes such as craft and jewellery making. These classes increase skills, build confidence and social connections while practising conversational English.
The Mobile Hubs are co-designed with the target cohort (CALD women) and local partner organisations to ensure the services offered in the specific location suit the needs of the cohort.
