Queensland Program Coordinator
Alejandra Campos (She/Her), Colombia
Alejandra joined SisterWorks in 2026 as Queensland Program Coordinator, bringing a diverse professional background in psychology, human resources management, wellness, mental health and community engagement. Since moving to Australia, she has continued to shape her professional path through studies in Community Services and experiences like volunteering activities in different organizations that have brought her closer to multicultural communities and environments.
Throughout her career, Alejandra has been particularly interested in understanding people, building meaningful relationships and creating environments where individuals feel heard, respected and valued. Her experience across different professional and cultural settings has also strengthened her ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and recognise the different strengths, experiences and perspectives they bring.
Her own experience as a migrant has given Alejandra a personal understanding of what it means to build a new life while finding your place professionally and personally in a different country. At SisterWorks, she brings this perspective to her work supporting migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking women to build confidence, strengthen their connections and explore opportunities that can support their independence as an essential part of their wellbeing.
"Re-building your identity especially in the professional sphere in a new country means a challenge in many ways and it tests everything you thought you knew about yourself. My own journey has taught me the importance of moving at your own pace, recognising the value of your experience, and staying connected to what you want to achieve. I feel privileged to now support other women as they create their own pathways in Australia, but not by themselves.”
