Yulia came from Indonesia 10 years ago with her little daughter. She has Bachelor degree of Accounting and years of work experience back home but have not been working since having a child. Now the daughter has grown up she started looking for work.
She tried multiple times to apply for work but all the prospective employers demanded current experience or at least a degree of accounting from Australia.
One day she read about Sisterworks on a Telegram group she joined. It was posted by a Sisterworks’s volunteer and she encourage Yulia to send her CV.
Through enormous supports of Sisterworks’ wonderful people, she finally got a position as Accounting Assistant. Her main responsibility currently is maintaining the account payable.
Sisterworks’s mission to support women who are refugees, asylum seekers or migrants to improve their confidence, mental well-being, sense of belonging and economic outlook just got another living testimony.
