When Pilbeam Living partnered with SisterWorks to manufacture a national run of heat packs, they engaged a mission-led social enterprise with the scale, skill, and structure to deliver.

Over the course of the project, 30,000 Pilbeam heat packs were produced through SisterWorks’ established manufacturing hub. The work created 2,309 hours of paid employment and engaged 20 women, many of whom were new to commercial-scale manufacturing.

Each woman, known within the SisterWorks community as a “Sister,” brought care, focus, and resilience to the task. The term “Sister” is more than a title—it reflects the sense of unity, growth, and shared purpose that drives SisterWorks’ mission.

This project provided much more than just a product. It offered the Sisters hands-on experience in a real warehouse environment, exposure to large-scale production processes, and the confidence that comes with seeing their work stocked by a major national retailer like Aldi. For some, it was the first time their skills had contributed to a product at such scale.

For Pilbeam, the partnership showcased how local businesses can meet commercial goals while backing community empowerment. The outcome was a product line delivered with precision, consistency, and heart—each unit carefully made by women building brighter futures for themselves and their families.

The success of the SisterWorkand Pilbeam partnership reaffirms what’s possible when manufacturers embrace ethical, inclusive supply chains. It’s a model that delivers on quality, efficiency, and social value—all at once.
