For several years, Seer Medical and SisterWorks partnered to transform two powerful ideas into action: advancing healthcare technology and empowering women through work.

Founded in Victoria, Seer Medical is a trailblazer in at-home epilepsy diagnostic monitoring—making clinical-grade care more accessible across Australia. In 2020, as demand for Seer’s Home Monitoring Kits grew, they looked for a manufacturing solution that could scale with care, precision, and purpose. That’s where SisterWorks came in.

From our Empowerment Hub in Richmond, refugee and migrant women—our Sisters—took on the assembly and packing of Seer’s medical kits. With skill, dedication, and a commitment to quality, they produced over 23,000 kits across the partnership. For 32 women, this translated into real employment, meaningful wages, and the opportunity to develop technical skills in a highly regulated industry.

But the impact didn’t stop there.

Seer Medical took their commitment even further, becoming one of SisterWorks’ first partners to transition Sisters into their own workforce. Two women who began in casual roles at SisterWorks are now directly employed by Seer Medical, working on-site as full-time manufacturing team members. Their journey reflects the core of our mission: that work empowers women—not just economically, but socially and personally too.

According to Seer Medical’s Chief Manufacturing Officer, Daniel Thompson, the collaboration offered both operational excellence and a deeper sense of purpose:

“SisterWorks has consistently delivered excellent service and played an important role in growing Seer’s manufacturing operations in Victoria. We’ve been continually impressed by the Sisters’ positive attitudes, strong work ethic, and their rapid mastery of the intricacies involved in manufacturing medical products. Beyond the business aspect, there is a deep sense of satisfaction and pride within the Seer team, knowing we contribute to SisterWorks’s mission.”

This partnership is a powerful example of what happens when business, community, and purpose align. By engaging SisterWorks, Seer not only met fluctuating production demands with flexibility and quality, but they also helped build pathways to long-term employment for women rebuilding their lives in Australia.

Though our formal contract has now concluded, the legacy of this collaboration continues. The medical kits assembled by our Sisters have reached homes across the country. The skills they developed have opened new doors. And the employment offered has changed lives.

SisterWorks remains ready to collaborate with businesses looking to manufacture with purpose, offering scalable, high-quality production solutions that empower women and deliver social impact.
