From Cleaning to Cooking: How Aline Found Her Business Breakthrough with SisterWorks
When Aline moved to Australia from Brazil six years ago, she brought with her a dream to build a better future. After settling in Melbourne four years ago, she juggled work and life in a new country, but knew she wanted more.
She first heard about SisterWorks from a friend who had taken the Customer Service program and Aline was intrigued and saw it as a way to improve her English. Inspired by the sense of community and opportunity, Aline decided to enrol in the Small Business course herself, taking advantage of her Tuesdays off to invest in her own growth.
“I started my first business in cleaning without much direction,” Aline shares. “But when it came to launching my cooking business, something I’ve always been passionate about and I wanted to do it right.”
The Small Business program gave her just that. Through SisterWorks, Aline learned how to navigate the legal side of starting a food business, how to find the right partners, and how to build something sustainable. “Sisterworks helped me understand what I need and gave me ideas too.”
Today, Aline is working towards growing her cooking business the right way. Her next steps? Securing a food licence, finding a certified kitchen, and making sure everything aligns with council and Australian regulations.
With her passion, determination, and a little help from SisterWorks, Aline is turning her dream into a delicious reality.
