For several years, she focused on adjusting to life in a new country and travelling with her husband, a period that left little room for building a career. In 2022, however, Munny decided to pursue her passion for baking and completed a Certificate IV in Patisserie, a step that would soon shape her future in Australia.

It was during the final months of her pastry course that Munny found SisterWorks. Seeking to blend her newly acquired skills with practical experience, she joined the SisterWorks Hospitality Program. This led to her first job in Australia as a Pastry Chef at the Hopetoun Tearooms, a moment that marked a major turning point in her journey.

But Munny didn’t stop there. Through SisterWorks, she embraced new opportunities, joining the Customer Service Program in 2023, which further expanded her skills and opened the door to additional roles. She worked on preparing seasonal Christmas hampers for Curated with Conscience and later secured a casual position as a café all-rounder at Meals with Impact. Each role reinforced her confidence and proved to her that she could thrive in Australia, despite the hurdles of entering a new job market with no local experience.

Munny’s time with SisterWorks wasn’t just about gaining employment. It was about building a community—one that offered not just job training but a sense of belonging. The support and camaraderie she found at SisterWorks helped her overcome challenges like language barriers and cultural differences, empowering her to see herself as capable of achieving her dreams.

Now, Munny is taking on a new challenge: the Three Peaks Adventure. A keen hiker, Munny has tackled hiking trails around the world, from the Himalayas to Europe. The Three Peaks Challenge represents more than just a physical adventure; it’s an opportunity for Munny to combine her love of hiking with her passion for supporting a cause that empowers women like her. It’s a chance for her to continue growing, while also inspiring others to believe in their own potential.
